  • Talk on the 2025 CPD requirements, stress management skills & burnout.
  • Participate in group CPD sessions designed to empower, & equip you with take-home skills for well-being, stress management and burnout prevention.
  • Up to 12 hours CPD with 5 hours of reviewing performance, a professional conversation, completion of your professional development plan, & 5 hours of measuring outcomes.
  • Mindfulness and self-care sessions are incorporated into all group CPD sessions.
  • Delegate handouts with CPD templates to complete & upload into your CPD home, along with take-home skills & other resources.
  • Enjoy daily gentle yoga and stretching, daily yoga and relaxation, and mindfulness practice with one of Newcastle’s best yoga teachers Melanie Dawson. If the weather permits we might do it on the grass outside or on the beach!  Don’t forget to bring your mat and comfy yoga gear.
  • Welcome afternoon tea
  • Friday evening drinks in the Pacific Deck room at 6pm.
  • Sit down bistro 2 course meal at Caves Bar and Bungalos 7pm Friday evening..
  • Morning and afternoon tea Saturday and Lunch saturday and Sunday provided by the bistro team.
  • 3 course meal at Mawsons, Caves Beach Saturday evening 7pm.
  • Time to watch the sunrise and sunset over beautiful Caves Beach.

Your Host – Dr Susannah Ward

Dr Susannah WardDr Susannah Ward is a Rehabilitation Medicine Physician, yoga teacher, and the founder of Ataraxia Collective. She combines clinical experience with a strong background in doctor wellbeing, leadership, and holistic health.

She currently chairs the RACP Member Health & Wellbeing Committee, is a director of Mood Active, and was awarded the RACP Basmajian Prize in 2018 for excellence in physician training. Her work blends evidence-based medicine with mindfulness, movement, and mental health advocacy. Susannah is also the author of Mastering Real Wellness and regularly facilitates wellbeing programs for healthcare professionals across Australia.

Dr Sancha Robinson

Dr Sancha Robinson is a specialist anaesthetist and professional coach whose career bridges clinical practice, education, and leadership development. She holds postgraduate qualifications in Medical and Perioperative Education and has expertise in gynaecological oncology, vascular, and colorectal surgery.

As a certified Master Physician Development Coach (USA) and Professional Certified Coach (ICF), Sancha empowers doctors to lead and live with clarity and confidence. She brings compassion, strategy, and vision to her coaching work and is passionate about embedding coaching into medical culture. Her “Lighthouse Coaching Philosophy” centres on values-driven living, strengths-based growth, and positive reframing. She believes coaching amplifies impact, stating, “When I give an anaesthetic, I help one patient; when I coach, I serve tens of thousands.” Her vision is to embed coaching into the medical culture, empowering doctors to thrive and, in turn, enhance the care they deliver.

Dr Jo Braid

Dr Jo Braid is a Rehabilitation Physician and national leader in burnout recovery for healthcare professionals. With over 20 years’ experience in neuro-rehabilitation and wellbeing coaching, she offers evidence-based strategies for sustainable success.

Jo is the host of The Burnout Recovery Podcast, a sought-after speaker, and an award-winning coach. She holds leadership roles with the Rehabilitation Medicine Society of Australia and New Zealand and the Medical Benevolent Association of NSW. Known for her warmth, clarity, and practical insight, Jo’s mission is to transform how doctors care for themselves and each other and is a leading voice in the movement toward a more compassionate and resilient medical culture.

Melanie Dawson

The very kind and gentle Melanie Dawson is a seasoned mental health professional and yoga teacher with over 30 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and professionals. With a background in psychology and postgraduate training in evidence-based therapies including CBT, narrative therapy, and family systems approaches, Melanie has worked across Australia and New Zealand in counselling, case management, rehabilitation, and group facilitation roles. In 2013, Melanie took a transformative step by integrating her passion for holistic wellbeing with her professional expertise, becoming a qualified yoga teacher. She has since completed training in Power, Hatha, and Yin Yoga. Her yoga classes are grounded in mental health awareness, offering participants a chance to reconnect with their bodies, reduce stress, and return to a more calm and mindful way of being. Melanie is passionate about supporting others to balance demanding work lives with compassionate self-care, and helping professionals avoid burnout through sustainable, body-aware practices. Allow Melanie to guide you inward and nurture your whole self with yoga specifically designed for doctors and stress management.

The dress code is easy and casual.  You can even wear thongs! Don’t forget your swimmers and hat, yoga mat and clothes. Bring along your laptop or other smart device with access to your CPD home. But most importantly bring self-comapssion and a willingness to permit yourself to rest, relax and have some fun.
